The challenge of this project was to upgrade and adapt a three-storey house for the contemporary needs of a family of six and the occasional visit from extended family. The overhauling of the entrance, stair and mid level re-planning was essential to improve flow and adequately address their needs.

A small extension and corresponding basement strategically unlocked this potential by consolidating communal space and intimately connecting to the outdoor landscaping and North-West aspect. This allowed for a mid-level 'sleeping wing' where two new bedrooms and an existing room open out to what was previously an awkwardly proportioned oversized hallway now re-purposed into a rumpus desk space for family use.
